How are custom transparent stickers made?
To make a transparent sticker, first look at the artwork. Decide which parts to make clear and which parts not to print.
Using your artwork the studio team will then create separate layers:
- Firstly the top layer that contains the full colour printed image (identifying areas with no print).
- Next, there is a base layer that highlights the areas of the image that require a white background or white underpinning.
The printer receives the information from the 2 layers and creates the images.
Why does a transparent sticker need a white underpin?
The white underpinning serves as a base to make the colours of the sticker more vibrant and opaque. Without it, the colours may appear dull and transparent, especially on darker surfaces. By adding a white layer underneath the ink, the colours pop and stand out more, creating a more professional and eye-catching sticker.
The use of a white background to enhance the colours of a sticker is a simple yet effective trick that can make a big difference in the overall appearance of the design. It not only makes the colours more vibrant, but it also helps to make the sticker more visible and legible, especially from a distance.

How do we print clear stickers?
This product page relates to digitally printed transparent stickers. These stickers are printed using eco-friendly solvent inks, using high-resolution CMYK digital printing technology. These sticker printers are best priced for short-run sticker printing. If you require large runs please review our screen printed sticker products and services. Screen printing is more economical over longer production runs.

Please note the samples are pre-printed and are not samples of your artwork, these are available on request but will be chargeable.

**Jobs requiring an area of white print or a white underpin should be supplied in an editable vector format. This is due to the specific processes involved with printing digitally with white ink. Additional artwork charges may apply if we have to create or manipulate custom shaped areas for printing with white ink.**
